Cymbals

Cymbals are known since ancient times, and its origin is probably in Asia. The empire of China and Turkey have the greatest influence on the development exercised. With the janitscharenmusic arrived at the cymbal during the 16. century for Central Europe, where entrance into the military bands (1850) and later found in the Symphony Orchestra. In the army bands an important role and highlight together with the big drum the basis rhythm.

The production of a cymbal is a complicated procedures and includes several steps. Notably the metal-alloy, but also edits the hammering and twist of in high-quality models carried out by hand decisively influenced the influence of the later sound of cymbal.

At the main brands are two alloys usual: the more frequently used so-called B20-alloy (around 20% of tin, 80% copper), and B8 (with as a lesser tin content, and reddish coloring). Low-quality and lower cymbal consist mostly of brass or nickel-silver.


Cymbals

Normal processes are:
Rotocast process cast, poured metal clump heating in the shape rolled. This process is demanding the basin for high-quality, but also more expensive.

Press -procedures: finished, punched, round metal plates are in the form tubs. The process is less costly than the casting techniques. Cymbals in division- and middle-class area will be cheaper.

In both players then follows, depending on the series, a manual or automated processing (hammered, deducted, polish).
